As the Lift Off date steadily drew nearer, the performance of the Crew during drills consistently improved. The selection process had been brutal, but now the high entrance level and strict requirements were paying off. Each day the Instructors confidence increased that these seventeen men would be able to carry out any tasks their Captain might give.
