DIM Fishing

From Create Your Own Story

You didn't have a fishing rod (or bait), so that was out of the question. However, you do remember your old natural science classes in school, as well as a few survival documentaries from saturday morning TV. Creative as you are, you figure that there might be other ways to catch fish than with a rod or a spear.

You didn't have tools, but you did have a lot of rocks, as well as tidal water that would rise in a few hours. Using the rocks, you then built a tiny V-shaped wall in the sand, close to the water. Afterwards, you simply left it while looking for dry seaweed or wood in the sand to make a fire with.

Sure enough, a few hours passed and the high tide came, submerging the rocks under the water. Now that there was enough water, a fish managed to swim into the V-shaped wall in order to look around. But as the tide flowed out and the water sank, the fish was trapped.

With both fish and a fire, you were able to cook yourself a crude, but satisfying meal.
