You pull on the string and your parachute opens instantly, slowing your fall. Then, mere seconds later, your aviator's boots hit the ground so hard that you almost sprain your ankle. You deployed just in the nick of time...
You unstrap the parachute, draw your pistol and look around, half expecting yourself to be surrounded by Germans. Luckily, you are alone in an open field with knee-high grass. It turns out that the searchlights, still busily scrying the night sky, are situated in an old roofless barn only a few hundred yards away — the operators apparently did not see you land.
There is a dirt road not too far from where you are, and it appears to lead in the general direction of the Resistance's drop zone.
