Cast LAW on the rat horde
From Create Your Own Story
You cast the spell and the rats all freeze in obedience. Their tiny minds are now under your command, and command them you do. You envision a tall ladder build from their furry little bodies. The rats move as one, scrambling over each other up the cliff-face.
The tower of rodents reaches all the way up to the cliff-top. You climb the soft, twitching ladder all the way up until you are at the top of the cliff once more, and jump down onto the earth.
The rats disperse, scattering out of site into the grass and the cliff's many ledges. But as they do, they sing. You can only just catch the words:
In a long empty mine roams a terrible beast,
Whose slaying it will be your duty, in time,
But should you meet early in mines to the west,
Creep inward and turn her – remember this rhyme!
Perhaps you will discover what it means: but now, it is time to go. Your long journey awaits.
Coming down a low rise you hear voices ahead, and the crackle of a fire. You crouch down into the low grass and listen. There are two voices, gruff and crude.
"I hear it's today or the next day," says one. "They've given him fifty gold pieces, I hear."
"Easy pickings," the others replies. "Two of us and only one of him. Enough to buy a boat."
Do you:
