"Hey, can I get something to wear here?" you ask in a frustrated voice. One of the girls nods obediently and digs through her bag looking for something to wear. While she does you notice a simple silver cross dangling from around her slender neck. You look around to the other girl and notice she's got one too. It seems the boys are also sporting little silver crosses. Your eyes widen in surprise. You've just gotten into a car full of Christian kids...
"Here you go." says the girl sweetly. You say nothing and simply put the swimsuit on, to the relief of the arranged kids. You let your mind work; this situation could be perfect, or you could be in for an afternoon of goody two shoes torment. The kids seem pleasant despite your original shocking appearance, suggesting that they could be easily manipulated if you do this right...
"So where are you guys headed?" You say in a casual upbeat voice.
"Sandtooth Beach," says one of the boys, smiling. "We try to go at least once a week, and this week our school is out on vacation."
A Christian academy, you think, explaining why they are going to the beach on a school-day. Sandtooth beach...the name is familiar somehow...
And then you remember.
And smile.
