"So," you say, "Mercurius, was It? I come off work in a few hours. Maybe we could resume this little chat then."

Mercurius smiles. "Maybe we could. When do you get off?"

"Two o'clock," you answer. "Where should I meet you?"

"I'm staying at my sister's house," Mercurius replies. "Number Eight on Church Road. I'll see if I can get her out the house by, let's say, two-thirty?"

"I can do two-thirty," you tell him. "See you then, blue."

"And you, green."

The young man then scuttles off, heading for the gates. Ashley lets him through, and you retake your post. Things seem a little awkward between you two after that, but you can't quite place what.

"See you then, blue," she mocks under her breath.

Your eyes go wide. She heard you!

"J-just how much of that did you hear?" you stammer.

Ashley turns to you with a knowing smile. "You were, like, two metres away. I heard him swallow, for fuck's sake. So, you're gay then?"
