You focus your attention on Valerie. She asks what you do, and you tell her the truth, that you manage a small apartment complex. You ask how she spends her time, and she tells you she reads a lot and takes walks in Central Park.
After another hour of pleasant conversation, you decide it's time to ask for that date. "Would you like to meet me on Saturday for dinner?" you inquire.
Valerie gives a you a smile. "Sure. Did you want to go out, or were you thinking of cooking it yourself?"
