Ask Linda what's wrong

From Create Your Own Story

"What's wrong?" you ask Linda. She smiles dreamily at the owl, somehow holding Trixie back, and whispers, "I've always wanted an owl, my very own..."

The owl had turned its back while you were there, but as Linda said those words, the owl turned. It faced her with its sharp beak and yellow eyes, staring fixedly at her, detirmined to not let its gaze waver. It stretched its wings, higher and farther than you ever expected. It kept them stretched out, looking very much like the eagle on some of those pennies you might find loose in your wallet or on the street. It opened its beak and uttered a piercing shriek that shattered the silence and made the hair on you stand on end. Then it pulled its wings back in and settled back on the windowsill, watching you expectedly.
