You like Digimon, and you appreciate what Agumon has done for you, but you also like living, and dying for a fictional cartoon character is not exactly your idea of an honorable death.
You make a break for it, hoping that the assailing Digimon would pick off Agumon first to buy you time. It doesn't. It has little interest in attacking its own kind, now that its preferred target, the filthy human, is unprotected.
It fires an attack. The last sound you hear is an electrical zap, instant and deadly.
