Walking near the rich's houses with Anna

As they always did, Fiona and Anna had decided to take a walk around the rich houses of the city after their daily work was done. Stepping on the beautiful and large streets of the city, gazing at the magnificient statues and gardens that stood in front of the palaces the nobles lived in, the girls were silently dreaming of living in such a place, someday.
Suddenly, as the sun was setting and as they were about to go back home, they heard the sound of horses in the middle of the streets. They turned around and saw two knights in armor, tall, strong men riding their mounts through the city. They turned around the corner, apparently not noticing the two young ladies as they headed for the marketplace.
"Aren't horses forbidden in the city streets?" asked Anna, confused. "Yes, they are" answered Fiona. "These men must be very important if they can just bypass the city's rule like that. Maybe they have a letter from the King himself. Still, they must be very rich."
Anna could read on her sister's face that she was becoming more curious at every second.
