The both of you circle each other, none wanting to engage. It isn’t until the bandits themselves begin to heckle and complain that the bandit leader attacks you. He strikes you ones with his scimitar, then another strike, and a third! The first two strikes were directed at your head which you easily blocked but the third one came down low, hitting home at your thigh creating a small cut. His scimitar means that he has a speed advantage over you so you weren’t quick enough to bring your sword down for a low guard. Yet the wound is nothing serious and the bandit leader retreats back to a safe distance. However he notices your wound and decides to attack you again, he must believe it to be more serious than it actually is.
