Take the role as a counter-sniper, and deal with an infamous Soviet sniper

A troublesome Soviet sniper has been demoralizing the mujaheddin. His attacks are legendary among the ranks of the Afghan resistance. Intelligence reports that he's been assigned to protect Soviet convoys from ambush, and your commander can think of no better way to lure him out than to attack a Soviet supply convoy.
You are assigned to watch over an ambush conducted by fellow mujaheddin, but you are tasked with finding and killing the Soviet sniper only. Your comrades who will be attacking the truck feel that they are being used as sniper bait, something which you cannot argue against. You reassure them of your skill, and take your position on the hill overlooking the whole area. You and your spotter Amir are sitting under sand-colored netting, camouflaging you both despite sitting exposed on the hill. You are looking down below to the road, which passes through some vegetation. Beyond that are the mountains.
Your allies are laying in wait in the bushes as the Soviet convoy comes up. Three cargo trucks pass into the ambush area, and your fellow freedom fighters open fire, disabling the first and last trucks, trapping the soldiers inside them in the kill zone.
"Remember," Amir tells you, "Do not fire on the convoy."
