Your heartbeat speeds up and your proudly pose for the Rangers, "I'll remain here to scout for their leader and to make sure no one follows you to our camp."
Sam smiles broadly and says, "thank you milady, you are a true hero this day, but be careful out here on your own." The captured bandit softly chuckles to himself and the other Ranger tells him to shut it. The group departs shortly, leaving you alone in the woods.
Suddenly, the silence of the woods makes you nervous as you glance around. No one is here. You sigh, and start walking the trail deeper into the woods.
Soon the trail is becoming faint. You take a few turns and now you're not sure which way is south to return to the Ranger camp. You take out your map and look around, the woods are denser here and you can't see the mountains. Figuring downhill to be your best bet you think you are heading south.
After 20 minutes, you think this can't be the way. But then you are on a trail again. "Well, that worked out" you say to yourself. The woods are thinning and you are now sure you are near the meadow again. But as you come out of the trees, you see that you are on the west side of the meadow. The remnants of an old wooden cattle fence emerge from the meadow to your right and disappear into the woods. Looking again at he map, you see that the fence marks what it probably the edge of the bandit territory. "Crap, I bet the bandit camp is close," you whisper. A branch snaps behind you...
