You decide there's no harm in showing them some human empathy and leave the carriage when they make a short stop at a local village to switch horses. the men are looking so dejected that they fail to notice your approach before you're in arms width. They gasp in surprise and allmost fall over.
you raise your hands, showing them those evil palms of yours and say with a smirk "Don't worry, I won't just suddenly attack as long as you keep your manners" they don't look to reassured until one of them notices the first aid kit you're carrying. You see the direction he's looking at and smile "You shouldn't just leave wounds like that, you know. It'll get infected" you pull out the first aid supplies and get to work before they recover from their surprise. They've only got a few cuts and bruises so you're done quickly.
They look at you stupefied, you smile at them mischievously and return to your carriage. You figure word of what you just did will go around like wildfire. Sure enough you hear the men talking about it soon after, their curiosity sounds a lot better than the loomy atmosphere from before. Now you've managed to pull their attention, it's time to make your next move.
The carriage soon arrives at the town where you'll be spending the night, this might be a good opportunity to take a closer look at what men you've got to work with here. As you leave the carriage, you deliberatley move slowly to allow them to help you down to show that you're not repulsed by the idea of touching them. As soon as you're out of the carriage, an official walks up to you. You stop yourself from raising an eyebrow at him, a short fat man. Might be good if you roast him over a spit, but the look in his eyes makes you reluctant to do anything else with him.
The official introduces himself as some or other ambassador, looking all important. "I see the escort we provided is to your liking" he sneers at you. "Unlike the officials sent to greet me.." You reply with a sigh, earning some chuckles from the men and the townspeople surrounding you. The 'ambassador' goes red in the face with anger and you could swear his cheeks blow up like a frog.
A few angry glares from the ambassador and the audience wisely quiets down. He coughs - apparently thinking he contained the situation perfectly - and turns to you again. Choosing to ignore your earlier statement to avoid embarrasing himself further, he tells you that they've prepared the luxurious room for you. He looks reluctant about it and you bet he'd prefer to have that room to himself. You re tempted to let him have it, you don't feel much like being a bird in a golden cage.
