You throw your lantern at the beast, catching it square in the face. The lantern bursts, showering the beast in burning white spirits. The beast screams as its flesh begins to burn like tinder, the creature crumbling to ash before your eyes. Within seconds it is consumed, leaving nothing behind but a bit of soot and a broken lantern.
With the lantern extinguished, you notice for the first time that the walls glow a strange pale green. Even without your lantern, you shouldn't have any problem finding your way.
