HPHS Zombie Game/Vote for the teachers lounge

"Let's go to the teacher's lounge," I said. "We should make sure that we keep all the survivors together."
The group armed themselves with bats and sharpened lacrosse sticks. You grab a stick, heft it, and then swap it for a long blue metal bat. Jon sticks his bat in the backpack on his back, and then pulls Jimmy up so that he can walk with Jimmy propped up.
We go out in a cluster, with Jason and Marin at the front and Elena, Zoe, and Eli backing us up. Jon, Jimmy, Nathan and I travel in the middle. The first zombie we see is trying to make it down the stairs. There's a few seconds of fright, and then Jason hits it in the face with his lacrosse stick and Marin pulls back his bat to smash the creature's head open. I think I knew that guy.
The same thing happens a few more times along the first hallway, but we handle it pretty well. Jason and Marin make a good team, and Eli and Elena mop up behind us. I'm starting to think we made the right decision, when we come out on the passage to the teacher's lounge and see a mass of the dead straight ahead. I hear Eli mutter "Dead ahead," and then I hear him wince as Zoe steps on his foot.
There's a dozen of them and I recognize most. Lance, David Segal, Erik, and funniest of all, Glenn Harrison and Darren Corbin. I almost laugh out loud as I see the normally sassy Darren groaning in my direction.
