Grab one of the hardbound books (TGT)

You reach up and grab the closest hardbound book to you, only after grabbing it you feel a shock and drop the book to the ground. When the book lands it suddenly opens up and the pages begin flipping on their own. A red light begins to engulf the book and suddenly you find you cannot move.
A bright red flash later the book is closed on the floor in front of you. You sigh in relief, wondering if you just witnessed a book actually moving on it's own or just imagined it.
"You didn't imagine it," a woman's voice says softly. You look around quickly and notice there is no one around you, only a kid looking through the clothes racks and some guy flipping through the vinyl. You must have just had a long drive and need to sit down. "No, we have work to do." The woman's voice again.
"Who are you!?"
"I'm not really a who, and you should quiet down... people will think you're crazy for talking to the voice in your head." You find that you can't speak and you begin to panic when a sudden peaceful feeling cascades over you. "Sorry, I'm a spirit named Vex who was sent here to help people and I need a body to do it. You just happened to be the one to pick up the book."
You feel blissful at the fact a spirit has taken over your body to help people, somewhere in the back of your mind red flags are going of like crazy, but you're okay with it.
"You have some choice in the matter, and I'll help the best I can to ease you in. You may not like what you have to do, but I promise to make it as pleasant for you as possible... Now choose the young man looking at clothes or the one looking at the records."
You have no idea what she's talking about, but you feel pretty okay with making the choice.
