You make your way to the coffee shop and step inside, the door chiming softly behind you. The place is quiet and cozy. A few elderly women sit by the window, cups of tea steaming as they chat in low voices, while a young couple lingers near the counter, heads close together.
You head toward the register to order a coffee, and that’s when you notice them. Tucked into a corner table are two familiar faces from school—Penny and Samuel.
Penny is tall, her long red hair spilling down her back, her freckled face bent over a notebook as she scribbles intently. Across from her sits Samuel, short and slight, his black-rimmed glasses perched low as he types away on his laptop, completely absorbed. They’ve always been the quiet, geeky types. From the looks of it, they’re deep into work for the paper they both write for.
