Go investigate the break in
From Create Your Own Story
"Show me your car," you say to Jenny. "Let's go see what happened."
Jenny nods and everyone dresses. Lisa keeps your shirt and socks with her and playfully sticks her tongue out at you. Everyone composes themselves before heading to Jenny's car some distance away.
You come across a minivan with the two front windows smashed in. There's glass all over the ground around the car. You look in the car and see the glove compartment open and everything scattered on the car floor. There are wires coming out of a hole in the dashboard where the stereo must have been. You aren't a detective by any meaning of the word. You stare at the scene, not knowing what to do, and you wonder why you even suggested trying to investigate a break in that you can't possibly solve.
You look over things carefully as if trying to be thoughtful like you imagine detectives to be. You shake your head a few times as you look at the car door and glass.
"These guys are good," you whisper solemnly. You turn back to Jenny. "They must have worn gloves. There's not even fingerprints anywhere."
"Don't you need to powder the surface to tell that?" Daphne asks.
"That only helps you recover the prints. You can spot them with a careful eye," you explain with a somewhat convincing argument. Daphne goes quiet.
You turn to Jenny and say, "I'm sorry. We aren't going to be able to find who stole your things."
"What?" Jenny shouts before sobbing into her hands. Daphne and Lisa take a seat on the nearby curb.
- Suggest going to Daphne's place
- Slap Jenny to knock her out of it
- Get the fuck out of this mess as quickly as possible
