Go around to the compound's front entrance

You and Annabelle hike over the steep ridge towards the other side of the compound. It's a rough traverse, and the high altitude only makes it more tiring. By the time you get to the other side and approach the front gate, both of you are wheezing and out of breath.

"Hey!" shouts a young soldier, noticing you and your condition and thinking the worst. "They're infected!"

"What?! No!" shouts Annabelle. "We're not..."

Gunshots ring out. You feel a sharp pain in your stomach and collapse to the dirt, curling up in the fetal position. A high-powered rifle round takes off the top half of Ana's head, splattering you with her blood.

A few seconds later, a round finds your heart, putting you out of your misery.
