"I appreciate the offer but I'm actually going to run to school early, I want to make sure that I feel prepared for this audition!" You say to Mr. Lawrence.
You turn to leave but he calls after you. "Hey, come on just for a second. The tea will help your throat and I can help you with your hair!"
I hadn't noticed but Mr. Lawrence's hand was now on my wrist. He wasn't grabbing me but it's presence was strange. I don't think he had ever really touched me before. I also was surprised that he seemed to want me to go into his house so bad. I had been in a few times before to look at old records he kept, or when he would invite my family over for dinner, or when I would house sit for him. He had a cool house but I could not figure out why he wanted me to go in so bad this time.
