Follow this strange woman?

With one last glance backwards you decide to follow this woman. She obviously knew what she was doing. Besides... you honestly had no idea where to go to find the elders. And, she may have some valuable information for you. If she knew of your destiny she may be able to tell you more.
"Wait up!" You call before hurrying after her. She walked very fast and you had slight trouble catching up to her. Once you finally did you looked at her again. The light of the torches danced across her face. It threw odd shadows across that made her look even more evil. "I'm Adanion." You say with a slight smile. You were just trying to make conversation.
"I know." She didn't look at you as she stated this. Her tone was haughty. As if she were better than the others. Confused once again, you look away and walk in silence with her.
You both continue walking down this long dim hallway. Though, you do not know where you are going you hope that this is the way to see the elders. After a long while of walking you both come to another set of large double doors. Across the top its 'The Wisdom Of The Sacred Ones Is Infinite' In Elvish. The script is very pretty, as many Elvish things are. You smile to yourself before you follow the odd woman inside.
You walk into the middle of a circle. On the outside of the circle are the elders positioned in high desks. The woman hangs back before going to one of the elders and whispering in his ear. She then returns to you before exiting the room.
The man who's ear she whispered in is first to speak. "We have already heard about you, and we have already heard the old prophecy. Show us the ring." You hadn't even had the time to speak. You just stood in front of them a bit dumbfounded before their words fully processed in your mind.
You really didn't want to show them the ring. It was yours. You found it; and you didn't want them to take it away. Still, you pulled the piece of cloth from your pocket that had the ring wrapped in side. Carefully you undid the folds of cloth until the ring shone brightly on the surface.
The silence was unbearable as the elders stared at the ring with stony-serious faces. Then, he spoke again, "This is the One Ring. It is lucky that it hasn't already polluted your heart but the fact that you had enough will to bring it to us means that you - and only you - can be the one to destroy it."
You were obviously taken aback. Surprise filtered into your face. You had to destroy it? Why couldn't they?! "W-what? Me? How can I destroy it?"
Deep down you were honored by this death defying task but you still wasn't quite sure that you could do it. The elders said nothing for many moments before he spoke up again, "You are the only one to find the ring that hasn't kept it for yourself. This ring has always polluted the hearts of any who touch it. Your will is strong, therefore you have to take it to the volcano and destroy it."
