Escape!

From Create Your Own Story

You glance around once more, deciding that you must leave this place. Staying here...while it may be welcoming, you feel that you have to leave and recover whatever memories you have lost.

Throwing the blanket from your lap, you sit up slowly and roll your shoulders. Your body aches, but not enough to discourage you or sway your decision. Swinging your legs over the side of the bed, you place your feet flat on the floor and take a deep breath before leaning forward and standing. Your knees threaten to give out beneath you, but you somehow manage to remain upright. Steeling your nerves, you take an uncertain step forward and approach the window.

The window is, as you suspected, just big enough for you to crawl through. It's also just high enough that you won't be able to reach it easily. Frowning, you reach up and grab ahold of the windowsill to pull yourself up. Your shoulders scream in protest as you lift yourself up, but you manage to get up and through the window. Luckily, the ground on the other side in much higher, allowing you to simply roll out of the window onto the soft grass below. Rising to your feet again, you glance around warily for a way out of the little cluster of buildings you're surrounded by. All the directions look the same...so you pick one at random and head in that direction.

Not five steps into the open, you turn and run face-first into a wall. You stumble back, bewildered, and glance back to what you hit. You quickly realize that it was not a wall at all...but a man! He's not much taller than you, and is dressed in an odd sleeveless yellow shirt-thing that falls almost to his knees over a deep purple tank-top-like shirt with an interesting flower pattern on it, along with simple black pants and sandals. His thick brown hair is tied back in a long ponytail that falls far past his shoulders, and his eyes are a beautiful shade of turquoise.

He looks just as startled as you are, but he recovers quickly and smiles. "Hey, you gotta watch where you're walking, alright? You might run into someone you don't want to make angry!" He glanced over you quickly before returning his gaze to yours. "Are you okay?"

You nod once, unable to find your voice for a moment. Out of the corner of your eye, you spot the dual swords hanging on his left hip and wince. If he finds out you're escaping...

He smiles again, completely unaware of your anxiety. "Yknow, I don't think I've seen you around here? Are you a friend of Chizuru's? What's your name?"

You swallow hard, thinking quickly. He obviously knows Chizuru, so he might be nice to you if you tell him who you are...but he might not. Do you dare take the chance? What should you do?:
