There could be dangerous animals in the jungle (especially considering the fact that you were on your way to Hawaii), so you made sure to stick as close to the shore as possible while looking for fruits to pick.
Thankfully, it was a tropical climate, so you were able to find a big mango tree just a few meters within the forest. Ripe and juicy, you made sure to pick as many as you could carry before hurrying out to the beach again.
With fruits that both dehydrated and killed the hunger, you had something that'd keep you going for at least a few more hours.
