You cast the spell, and as the Ogre closes to attack, it collides with something solid. You have stopped it with your invisible wall. The creature is dumb enough not to understand and keeps hurling itself into the barrier. Entertaining enough, but the wall is also stopping you from going anywhere except out.
But all is not lost. A section of the table is on your side, and on that section there is a beautiful gem – a nice solid piece of emerald, processed by the Ogre's machine. Not a bad find at all.
Not stopping to wonder what the Ogre will do when your spell fades, you pocket the gem and leave the room.
You head back to the fork in the passage. The sunlight from outside is very tempting.
