CYS: I can't risk it

From Create Your Own Story

"Sorry Jess" You can't risk both your life for her. You turn your back and and walk away from the house. Tears streaming down your face as you realize that your two closest friends are now dead because of you. You try to move past the sorrow, make a plan. You could head to the Farm, the City, or just stay here.

You start to head to your house to think up a plan, when a large explosion from the mountain roared through the air. You glance back as a ball of flame bloomed from the mountain top, flinging debris across the mountainside. A second blast erupts, causing the ground to shake, as a mushroom cloud seems to grow, reaching into the heavens. You are filled with both fear and wander, as the cloud of smoke blotted out the sky. You notice that the mushroom cloud had a red tinge, like the fog along the mountainside. As you gazed at the giant pillar of smoke, you noticed red flashes of lightning, illuminating the sky. You blocked everything out as you were entranced by the scene in front of you. It was too late when you heard the car, when the vehicle hit you. Last second you looked down to see a panicked woman behind the wheel, coughing as she speed toward you. You tried to jump out of the way, but the top of the hood and windshield slammed into. You heard a crack, before falling onto the concrete. As you laid on the ground, you stared at the mountain, with all of its destructive glory. Your limbs felt to heavy to move, like they were filled with lead, and the ground was so comfortable. You wanted to just lay down and sleep, but a little voice in the back of your head screamed at you to move. Unable to ignore it, you rolled over on your stomach, and force your limbs to cooperate. You start to crawl toward your house, slowly making your way out of the street. However, your drive doesn't last, and you collapse to your side. As your vision slowly faded, you looked back at the mountain. The last thing you saw was the huge cloud, spreading across the sky, and ash starting to fall, like snow.
