Alison presses Tom for more information about the auction

From Create Your Own Story

"I understand you don't know about me," Alison said, snuggling herself against Tom. "But these auctions.... what are they like?"

Tom chuckled. "They're held every 2 months. The women to be auctioned are put in holding cells until the auction itself and brought out, one by one, onto the stage. Then the bidding proceeds: it can't last for longer than 3 minutes. No one is allowed to make more than one bid on any individual woman. Highest bid gets her."

"So... how much did you bid to win me?" Alison asked.

Tom laughed. "$3.2 million." Alison blanched. Tom smiled. "I'm worth close to a trillion. That's pocket change for me."

"And... the police have never investigated these auctions?" Alison inquired.

Tom guffawed. "Honey, the men who participate are so rich, we own the police. Besides, all the women signed contracts agreeing to be auctioned. It's all perfectly legal."

"I still wish I knew why I signed up for being auctioned," Alison murmured.

"I can try and find out," Tom told her. "Or, you could just enjoy life with me."
