You decide to go on national news and make an statement about the game. You secure a spot on a large news program that is broadcast across the country. You express your regret and sorrow about what happened in California but state that your game really had nothing to do with it. The newscaster takes the offensive and keeps pushing. You state that the media shows far worse acts of violence and aggression and those are all real. Your game is a work of fiction and has no effect on sane individuals. The news man will not let up and hounds you. You repeat your stance and when he won't get up, you walk off screen. The cameras cut and you walk out the building. Your phone rings, but you ignore it and catch a cab back to work.

Your coworkers praise you for staying calm and making the right points. The news station sends you an angry email for being disrespectful, which you throw straight in the trash. You watch the program the next day and the station runs a story bashing your company. Sales of the game take a slight plunge, but viewership of that program falls even more. An internet campaign to support you and the company is formed and soon you have the backing of hundreds of thousands of people. The sales of the game shoot up to even above when it was released. Other games from the company rise as well, and your boss is thrilled. You get an immediate promotion and continue a long career making excellent video games. After thirty years of work, you decide to leave the company but you continue to do some consulting work for other games in your free time. You never get married, but are known world-wide for your important contributions to the gaming community.
