Wave a foot at the rat and shoo it away

Curiously, the rat does not flee. Instead, it moves a bit closer.
"Shoo! Go away," you tell it. Still, the rat approaches you. When it is almost so close you could touch it if you stretch your toes, you can examine it closer.
It's got magnificent whiskers it has kept clean even if it is very greasy otherwise. And you can look into its small but beautiful black eyes. And its nose fascinates you as it keeps twitching without interruption. You can only imagine the scents such a delicate instrument can pick up!
Behind it, still in the gloom, another squeak tells you it's got a comrade.
Do you:
- Let the rat simply pass you by as long as it doesn't try to bite you
- Wave your foot at the rat again to shoo it away
- Jump to your feet and flee the sewers, even if it is just a rat, and you won't get to look inside the crate
