You stay at your vantage point and watch a while longer, to see if things change. After a while, you begin to notice something strange about the way the people in the village are moving. First you notice one is limping – then, another. Then you realise they are all shuffling as they move. Some use sticks. One is even crawling.
After a while you realise that whatever is happening in the village, it is desperate. There is no laughter, no joy. There is no trade or commerce. The women do not walk about and the men do not watch them. It is like a prison camp!
