The panic is too great.
You open your window and crawl out to the garden. Your nightdress doesn't protect you against the fresh air outside and you start to shiver. You crawl between two bushes and start to cry in silence, asking for the Lord's guidance. You've failed them, you've failed them all, you should have protected her or even called the police.
After a long while you realize you should act, it was probably just a man, a rapist sinner but a man none the less. Coming to your senses you stand up and run back towards the entrance of the orphanage. The front door is unlocked, you push it and head straight towards the watchman's office.
The light is on and you hear moans and slurping noises coming from inside. He's seating behind his desk, his head leaning back. He seems to be muttering something.
"Peter, wake up, we have to call the police, someone entered the girl's dormitories, he tried to attack me, we have to do something..."
He doesn't react.
A giggle comes from under the desk. A couple of hands lay on your shoulders. You turn around terrified. The mother superior half naked, and covered in blood falls into your arms. You can feel her pulse fade away as the blood pours from the many wounds you see covering her.
"Help me" She whispers before dying in your arms.
