"The thing is..." You pause as take a deep breath. "I'm kind of having second thoughts." Yulia pulls away and sits silently. "I mean, I've been having fun with you and you're a great girl, but Jason was ready to fight for me."

"He was ready to beat up a girl. What kind of man is that?"

"He's not normally like that. I guess he just cares so much about me..." The devastated blonde runs off to her dorm room before you can finish. You hesitate for a moment then start to follow her. Suddenly, you hear a thump and a painful scream. As you get to Yulia's door, Amber is standing by the doorway.

"What happened?" you ask the shocked-looking friend.

"I don't know. She came in here muttering in Russian, then punched the side of the dresser. I think she really hurt her hand." Yulia cries in pain as she holds her rapidly swelling right hand.

The next afternoon, you go to Yulia's room to see if she's all right. She has a cast on her wrist and is crying on Maria's shoulder. Maria breaks the bad news to you. "Well, her playing hand is broken, so her season's shot. The athletic director also said she's probably gonna lose her scholarship due to the barfight and hurting herself after going out drinking."

"Without that scholarship, I'll have to drop out," Yulia adds through her tears. "I'll lose my visa and have to go home. My dad is very stern and said if I failed, I shouldn't bother coming home. I'll be out on the streets."
