Sit back down and try watching tv despite the noise

From Create Your Own Story

The TV murmurs some bullshit reality show you weren’t even watching, because the real show was happening outside your window. That goddamn lawnmower—Luke’s lawnmower—kept roaring, vibrating through the walls like a tease. Every time he pushed it past your house, the sound dug under your skin and curled low in your gut.

You finally gave up, slamming the remote down hard enough to crack the coffee table. Fuck it. Upstairs.

Your bedroom smelled like laundry and your own restless sweat. The second you hit the mattress, your body remembered the way Luke’s shirt had clung to his chest this morning when he bent over the mower’s engine, grease streaking his forearms. That was the moment—when he ripped the shirt off, tossing it into the grass like he didn’t give a fuck who saw. The sun lit up every ridge of his abs, the sweat glistening in the dip of his collarbone. Your fingers twitched against the sheets like they wanted to trace the same path.

Now you were thinking about how his hips moved when he walked. How his hands would feel pinning your wrists into the mattress. How his voice would sound, rough and impatient, telling you exactly what he wanted.

Your thighs pressed together involuntarily. One hand slid under the waistband of your shorts.
