Sidestep and slash

Sidestepping, you slash out at the Skunkbear, but it knocks you aside with a paw. It issues a foul cloud of stinking gas that makes you gag and choke. You almost drop your sword. If you had, it would have meant certain death.
The Skunkbear, for all its growling, is afraid of you. It rears up and waits, trying to stay out of reach.
It drops on all four and roars.
