Pry the door with your sword

You try a different approach: pulling out your sword, you wedge it into the slight crack made by your shoulder and attempt to pry the wood apart. It gives, just a little, but enough to let through a chink of light.

Behind you, the corridor has sealed off completely, and billows of dust and smoke are making you choke. You are still trying to prise the wood open when the corridor finally tumbles in upon itself. There is nothing you can do to save yourself. You will never see the sunlight again.
