Chapter 20: Romantic family dinner
As you leave, the phone rings again. "Sorry about calling you `Sis' before," Britney says. "You sure you don't want to join us?"
"Not tonight," you say. "I need that steak dinner. I didn't get much to eat at the reception. But tomorrow we're free."
"O-kay!" she replies. "We'll be there tomorrow afternoon!"
Dinner is excellent. "What have you been doing?" Chrissy asks Megan and Maddie.
"Oh, just the usual," Megan says, "spending nights together all the time now that we're roommates."
"That's not what I meant," says Chrissy.
"Oh!", Maddie giggles. "We've been studying hard for exams lately. I'm doing biostatistics, and she's doing ecological chemistry." Difficult majors, you think, especially at an academic school like Bucknell.
"Maybe you need something to relax you," Laura says with a wink.
"I think we do," they say in unison.
"Well... hmmm..." Laura says, pretending to ponder. "maybe you should spend the night with us!" Giggling, Megan and Maddie accept.
"Where should we go?" they ask.
"Back to your house, which we haven't yet seen, or to a hotel, where there will be a more, shall we say, single-mindedness of purpose?" You have to think about that one. Your house was just built 2 months ago, but a hotel would be a more intimate setting...
