You shut off the car and grab your things. Both of you step out into the rain and rush to the first door you can find in the brick building. You push it open and step into the darkness. Flicking on your flashlight, you scan the room quickly, and breathe a sigh of relief when you find that the bottom floor is completely empty. Just four brick walls, a staircase to the second story, and a wooden floor.
Melanie shuts the door behind you, and finds a latch on the inside. She shuts it tight, and then shakes the rain out of her hair. "We should check all three floors," she says. "Make sure we're safe here."
