Even though you have your own interests, maybe today you could make a new friend. Besides, the convention was a four daylong event, so you have time for other things. You tell him that you changed your mind and decided to stick with him. He gleefully shouts in happiness and takes your hand, while proclaiming that the two of you would have great fun.
You follow him around to various stores and minor events, listening to him ask several questions about yourself as well as making small talk. For the most part, you felt bored and not very interested, but you trudged along with him anyways. The day goes by without anything noteworthy worth mentioning.
As the two of you exit the building, you notice how quickly nightfall has fallen over the city. Bill offers to walk with you home “Just in case anything bad happens.”
