Mom smiles, “Alright sweetie. We’re about to be at AJ’s now, I’ll sit in the back with the boys, Sadie (sister) can have the front row to herself and Derick can sit up front with dad. Sound good?”. Everyone agrees. As we pull up, I see AJ waiting outside sitting on his luggage with a big grin on his face.
AJ has been my best friend since kindergarten, we used to tell each other everything. Over these past couple years however, things have slightly shifted. He has noticeably grown faster than I have and has become a lot more stocky and popular than me. I thought inviting him on this vacation could turn things around for us. Maybe he could make me popular too.
He hops in the car, we stop for a quick breakfast, then we head out on the road.
