The crane must be a slow thinker, because he does nothing to stop you from taking off. Either that, or he's too busy admiring the spectacle of such a heavily loaded swan slowly slowly inching off the ground.
You flap and you flap, and you are about to give up when you jubilantly realize you are actually lifting off. It's heavy work, but work cut out for the large strong wings of a healthy pregnant swan mother like you.
Once you have reached a safe height above the pond, you trumpet out your triumph! You steer like a overloaded bomber plane straining to keep its altitude, that is to say, very clumsily, but no matter - out here in the free air, you feel free and in control.
Over to your left you see the castle. You think you remember which window you flew out of... Below you, all the male swans are responding to your trumpeting call, and a majestic whiteness of swans are ascending to meet you in free flight.
You do:
- relish the joyous feeling of flight just a bit longer
- let the swans catch up with you to admire the mother of their eggs
- immediately fly over to the castle
- immediately fly back home to your apartment
