Make Patricia test the Demonslayer Blade on the demon

You smile. "I think that's a wonderful idea, Monica. Let's have Patricia do the ultimate test."

"Wait, please, no..." Patricia begs. Looking around and seeing no sympathy from anyone, not even Dr. Calderon, her shoulders slump. Then she clears her throat. "Um...I may have made a slight mistake about which sword is the Demonslayer Blade. It's actually that one over there." She points to a gold-hilted nobleman's sword.

"I knew you were lying, you little..." Monica raises her fist as if to backhand Patricia, but gets her Latina temper under control and lowers her hand.

Dr. Calderon takes the new sword out of its case. "We'll take both of them with us, just in case."

"Now that I've told you the truth, can you please just turn me over to the police?" Patricia asks. She bats her long eyelashes again.

Monica rolls her eyes. "Although I'm attracted to men and women, I'm not into sociopaths, so you can drop the flirting act," she sighs. "And sure, you told the truth...after we caught you. Boy, you really are a paragon of virtue."

The four of you make your way back to the demon's cavern, you, Monica, and Calderon keeping a close eye on Patricia all the while. When you reach the entrance, Monica asks, "So, what's the plan?"

"Well, we can send one of us with Patricia to pretend to be another sacrifice for the demon, but they'll have the Demonslayer hidden on them," says Dr. Calderon. "The other two can cover from the shadows with their weapons."

"But who's going to play the sacrificial lamb?" Monica asks.

• Volunteer to be the (hopefully phony) sacrifice
• Stay quiet and hope that someone else volunteers to be the sacrifice
