You decide to keep the boat headed south.

Eventually, you wash up on a deserted island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. There are no humans here, and no zombies either. You and Annabelle build a new life for yourselves on the island, harvesting coconuts and fruit and catching fish. The two of you eventually become lovers, making love in your makeshift hut every night.

Weeks pass. Then months. Then years. Finally, seven years later, a ship appears offshore. A lifeboat is lowered and makes its way to the beach. Several sailors, led by an officer, make their way onto the sand.

"Hello there!" you call out. "Are you safe from the zombie apocalypse?"

"The zombie apocalypse?" says the officer. "That's been over for three years. Scientists found a formula that turned zombies back into humans and spread it all around the world. The world is back to normal. You mean you two have been on this island ever since..."

"Well, no one came to rescue us!" laughs Annabelle.

You hug the officer, then hug Annabelle. The world is back to normal! And you've found a lover. Things are looking up.
