"We'll be low on fuel either way," you say. "Our best bet is to just keep going."

Each day, as your food, water, and fuel run lower, you and Annabelle grow more and more worried. You use a tarp and bucket to collect rainwater for drinking, and you are able to catch some fish with your crossbow, but there's no way to get extra fuel.

Suddenly, one morning, Annabelle points in the distance. "Isn't that a boat?"

You eagerly steer your boat towards the new vessel. It turns out to be a Coast Guard patrol boat, which brings you and Annabelle on board, towing your boat behind it.

The captain of the Coast Guard boat explains the situation. "We're stationed on Kauai, which is a few hundred miles away from here. As far as we know, it's the largest community in the world still free from zombies. You'll be safe there. Eventually, we hope to liberate the rest of the Hawaiian islands one by one from zombies, and from there...eventually, the world."

You and Annabelle look at one another and smile with relief. Not only are you safe, but there is hope for the future.
