The temple district is... it's actually pretty impressive. There are several large temples here, each one a great, shining building, beautiful and distinct in its architecture. And... a few dry cleaners, a deli, a coney dog joint... it's basically just a gentrified, mid-scale urban neighborhood that happens to house the bulk of the city's religious centers. Interesting.
After a quick lap of the area, you've figured out where the Temple of Gaia is. It was the easiest to find - the building is essentially an enormous greenhouse with a huge outdoor garden, more a self-contained park than a building.
Most of the other temples you find don't look like the sort that would help you out - you have a sneaking suspicion that if you try to enter the temple of Anansi, you'll get fleeced out of what little you still have, and you really, really don't want to walk around pantsless.
There are two other temples that are - at the least - interesting, though. One is a stately brownstone that looks rather like one of the old churches from your world, but without the iconography. The sign out front reads "CHURCH OF THE GRAY, United Enlightened Daemonists, Rev. Succ. Aina LuMar." Demon worshipers practicing publicly? Weird.
The other is one you're a bit more familiar with from a crazy friend of yours - though it's something that wouldn't have actually had a temple in your world. The Greater (not greatest) Temple of Eris, Discordian.
So you've got options - you can try the Earth Mother's temple, cast your lot with the so-called enlightened demons, or slum it with the Goddess of Discord.
