"It's dangerous, but I feel like I have to go," you say. "They saved my life, and they may be out there, injured."
Annabelle nods. "Good luck, Marina. Stay safe." She gives you a quick hug.
"You too, Ana." Gathering your weapons and your courage, you step through the broken window and out into the great unknown.
You find yourself in a courtyard, with the castle walls on three sides. Directly ahead is a row of dense bushes. You take a deep breath. This could get bad in a hurry.
You make your way through the bushes, your body extremely tense. You have your pistol in your left hand, with the safety off, and your sword in your right. Every little noise makes you jump. Finally, you are through the bushes. You sigh with relief.
That's when the zombie snarl comes from your right. Without even looking, you swing your sword, cutting off the top half of its head. You spit down on the corpse. "Fucker."
That makes you feel better, as well as more confident. You begin making your way through the overgrown castle gardens, searching for any sign of Holly and Jack. Finally, you emerge from the gardens and into a meadow. The castle looms behind you. You look around over the grass and at the treeline in the distance. Still no sign of them.
Snarls come from your left. Three zombies are shuffling towards you.
