Furry World/Male Raccoon/Tunnel 2-1: Investigate the flower

Tara looks questioningly at the large flower. "What's a rafflesia doing down here?"
"A what?" you say.
"A rafflesia. It's the world's largest single flower. But why would one bloom down here? I thought they only lived in forests."
You shake your head. "Never assume something like that. A cave like this, with glowing mushrooms? Anything could happen."
Tara nods. "You're right. Let's go see what's up with it."
You both follow the edge of the lake, having to press up against the blue-lighted wall for a bit, until you've circled around to the side where the flower lives. As you get closer, you become more convinced that it isn't actually a flower, but a cleverly-disguised container. The petals are too straight-looking to be real. You approach it with caution, Tara following close behind. You try to peer inside.
Tara suddenly shrieks and shoves you to the side. "It's a trap! Get away!"
You go tumbling a short distance, momentarily dazed by the sudden action. But you quickly come back to your senses when Tara yelps again. You look up to see her suddenly ensnared by a bunch of long purple tentacles that have suddenly sprouted from the center of the flower, its petals opening to reveal more of them. They wrap quickly around her arms and legs, holding her tight and forcing them apart. She struggles against these bindings, but she's unable to move. She looks down at you and says, "Help! It's got me!"
You spring to your feet and grab your dagger, getting into a crouch to jump toward Tara's assailants. You pause to figure out the best angle of attack without harming her, but every second that goes by, those tentacles wrap around her tighter. Another one snakes its way under her minirobe and around her midriff. Her eyes are full of terror, and another tentacle deftly slaps her staff out of her hand, letting it clatter to the ground and bounce into the lake. And you notice the ones between her legs continuing to coil upward toward her hips, their tips starting to secrete a slimy fluid as they approach.
You glance at the flower. Its petals are still only partly open. You have to free Tara now, but perhaps waiting for just a moment might be prudent.
