You decide not to bother trying to change.

Suddenly, there's a TV camera and an interviewer holding a microphone in front of you.

"The winner of Battle Royale, Zeke Davidson!" he booms. "How did you do it, Zeke?"

"Raw ferocity and combat skills."

"You got four kills in the first few hours, then waited it out in the lighthouse. Was that your strategy?"

"I was hoping more people would come into the lighthouse so I could kill them too. But I won, so..."

"When it was down to just you and Brooke in single combat, what were you thinking?"

"Wait for the bitch to screw up, then take her down!"

"And there you have it! Tune in next year at a new location for the second Battle Royale."

The TV camera and interviewer vanish and a man in a suit appears. "I'm the sponsor. Here's your check for $200,000. Congratulations. Now let's get you home."

High school continues to be a bleak and barren place. You don't bother going to college. You use part of the $200,000 to buy a tiny house out in the country where you can be alone. You get a low-level job at a sawmill where you can be alone while working, too.

You live out a cold, lonely existence.
