Don't pull the lever
From Create Your Own Story
You realize that the ejector seat would only launch you into the pavement head first, and do nothing. You die slowly and painfully as the flames creep up into the cockpit. Just as the tendons in your arms burn and snap, you realize that you probably should have taken the quicker way out, instead of burn alive. However, your arms are now useless, and you eventually have the good fortune to die at last. Your body and journal are soon both destroyed forever, engulfed in the intense blaze of the burning fuel. A month later, when survivors come along to make the base their new home, they scrap the remains of the plane and your body off into the wasteland, forgotten about forever almost immediately.
