Dasher Alone: Take the ladder to the roof

You scale the ladder as high as you can get, barely breaking a sweat. A few floors up you encounter a barrier designed to stop thieves. Unfortunately it is constructed well enough that you have no way to surpass it. You climb back down the ladder and attempt to open the metal door, but it remains shut and locked.
Your only option is to return to the street and try a different way...
