You don't want to fool around with that altar. Not at this point, anyway. You continue along the main passage.
As the tunnel continues, you feel the air get cooler and fresher. Soon, you see natural light in the distance. You've found another way out.
You emerge onto a lonely-looking hillside. You see a road down below. Hiking down to it, you hitch a ride from a passing car back to town and your hotel.
After an excellent steak dinner, you decide to go for a walk. Your enjoyment of the cool night air is suddenly interrupted by horrified screams in the distance. Rushing towards the sound, you see a mob of skeletons massacring all the humans around them. Two policemen fire their guns at the bony undead, but the bullets can't stop the creatures and soon the cops are slaughtered too.
Drawing your sword, you charge at the skeletons, slicing and dicing them into bits, screaming like a banshee and trying to draw their attention to you as much as possible. It is a long and brutal fight, and you receive a couple of wounds on your arms and legs from the skeletons' blades, but eventually you take them all down with your swordswomanship.
You look around. In addition to the bits of bone that were formerly undead, the corpses of dozens of disemboweled and decapitated humans litter the town square. Only a few survivors are left, either curled up into balls whimpering, or vomiting at the gruesome scene.
But it is not over yet. An undead priest appears, shooting magic from its bony fingertips and slaying the survivors one by one. It launches its death magic at you, but your pendant protects you. With a warrior cry, you rush the undead priest, cutting off its head and then stomping its skull flat underneath your long black leather boot for good measure. You shake your head as you realize that you are now the only one left alive in the square.
Several minutes later, sirens wail and several police cars and military vehicles arrive on the scene. You introduce yourself and explain what happened to an army captain who seems to be in charge.
The captain frowns in alarm. "My superiors will want to talk to you. Come with me immediately."
You are husted into the back seat of a Jeep with the captain. The enlisted soldier behind the wheel quickly drives off at the officer's orders.
You are taken to a military base, where the captain speaks quickly to a colonel and introduces you. The colonel looks at you. "Some of us have suspected the existence of the undead army for a long time, but no one really believed it...until now. Please come with us, Senorita Katarina. Your pendant...and your knowledge and skills against the demons...will be very valuable. The Generalissimo will want to meet with you. We have a helicopter all ready."
"Wait," says a female voice. An attractive, athletic-looking, raven-haired young woman in civilian clothes is speaking. "I'm Dr. Monica Velasquez. I'm a professor of Inca history, and I've been studying the ancient Inca legends of the undead army for years. With our combined knowledge, we may finally be able to defeat this ancient enemy. Please, come with me in my car."
